It is always nice to welcome in a new month with 4 days off! I love actually getting to enjoy a long weekend. So many options for what to do but I think I managed to fill in the time pretty well.
It is hard to believe that as we enter October we start the countdown to the end of the year and everything seems to be wrapping up. Personally I feel as though I am just getting started!
When this year started I had some vague ideas of the direction I wanted to go but as the months move by that direction appears to be getting a little clearer. I have been working on properly defining my goals which is helping with my motivation along with providing me with a great sense of achievement when I get to tick off something!
What I have discovered is that I am really enjoying my little slice of the internet here and am only looking to continue sharing my stories. However at this current moment it is competing for my time as my university studies move into their last month. October for me looks like study, exams, assignments and me drowning amongst it! I challenged myself this year by enrolling so I am going to have to place my full focus on getting through this time because the sense of achievement I will gain when finishing that final exam will be well worth it!
So what of this long weekend? Yes I have a mega assignment to do but I also had some time to cross a couple of other things off my list that I have been meaning to do.
One of the things on my to do list was to have a little play around with my latest toy, a Sony a6000 compact mirrorless camera. So I had to do some things to take photos of!
I was already planning a trip into South Bank to see Into The Woods at QPAC so I decided to take my camera along and try and capture some of the beauty of Brisbane at night. Into The Woods was a lot of fun, not your typical fairy tale, it pokes fun at the happy ending. This was only on at QPAC for a short time so if you missed it the movie version bursting with celebrities will provide a similar level of entertainment. ..Just don’t expect anything too serious!
So after the show I headed straight for the river’s edge to see what sort of fun I could have with my camera. I hadn’t practised at all with night shots but I was very happy with the results. This is something that as time permits I would love to explore further. I just love looking across the river from South Bank and seeing the array of different colours that light up the casino. The colour reflects so well in the water which really is best at night.
I hadn’t ventured into the city for quite a while so it was really nice to be able to get the time even if it wasn’t for very long.
I hope you enjoyed your long weekend.
