This air fryer steak is the secret to perfectly cooked, tender and juicy steaks every single time. Let me show you exactly how easy and quick it is to cook steak in the air fryer! Serve with air fried or oven-baked chips and a homemade chimichurri and you have the easiest dinner with minimal effort.
2medium-sized scotch fillet steaksapprox 250–350 grams each
½tablespoonolive oil
Salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
Take the steaks out of the fridge and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
If your air fryer has a preheat function, set it to 200°C (400°F) and let it heat up.
Pat the steaks dry with paper towels, then rub them with olive oil. Season generously with salt and black pepper.
Place them in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through at the 4-minute mark. Cooking times will vary based on steak thickness and your air fryer model.
Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium rare, remove from the air fryer at 52°C (125°F) as the temperature will rise while resting to 54–57°C (130–135°F).
Transfer them to a plate and allow them to rest for 10–15 minutes. Serve with your favourite vegetables or sides.
Notes
Adjust the cooking time based on how you like your steak cooked and the thickness and size of your steak. I recommend removing the steak at 5-10 degrees lower than the goal as they will continue to cook as they rest.
