This air fryer roast chicken is so easy to make and results in juicy and tender chicken with deliciously crispy skin. Enjoy this seasoned chicken for a Sunday roast with veggies or use in any recipes that you would usually use a grocery store rotisserie chicken!

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kilogram whole chicken
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Remove the chicken from its packaging and pat it dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the salt, thyme, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • Rub the olive oil all over the chicken, then evenly coat it with the spice mixture.
  • Place the chicken, breast-side down, in the air fryer basket. Cook at 180°C (350°F) for 30 minutes.
  • Flip the chicken and cook for another 20-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F) in the thickest part.
  • Transfer the chicken to a plate and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before carving and serving.
