Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 x 400 gram can chickpeas
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  • Rinse and drain the chickpeas and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Place the chickpeas in a mixing bowl with the olive oil and spices and toss to combine, making sure the chickpeas are evenly coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer for a few minutes and add the chickpeas and cook for approximately 15 minutes, shaking the chickpeas every 5 minutes or until the chickpeas are golden and really crispy.
  • Let the chickpeas cool completely and store in an airtight container or jar in a cool, dry place for up to a week.

Notes

Optionally add some cayenne to the spice mix as well if you like a bit of heat!
Air fryer cooking times may vary depending on your make and model.
You can double or even triple the batch however depending on the size of your air fryer you may need to cook them in batches as we want to make sure the chickpeas are in a single layer in the air fryer basket for maximum crispness.
Shaking the basket often while cooking is essential for even cooking and to ensure the spices don’t burn.
