And just like that we are about to say goodbye to the crazy, unprecedented, year that was 2020.
It’s at this time each year that I like to take a look back over the past 12 months and see what posts you’ve loved making. This list is calculated by the number of pageviews on a post from January through to now. It’s always fun to see what recipes were the most popular, and this year looking back it was interesting to compare the top 10 from previous years.
You can also check out my past posts to see what made the list in 2019 and 2018.
This year’s list is made up of 6 return entrants and 4 newcomers – the same breakdown as it was last year! It’s so exciting for me to see old favourites return as well as new recipes rising to the top.
This year the biggest surprise for me was that my top post for the last 2 years has been pushed back to number 2 and we welcome a new top post that was excitedly published only this year!
So here we go, counting down the top 10 recipes for 2020 from Eight Forest Lane.
10. Vegan Chocolate Buttercream
This post suffered a big drop from it’s number 3 spot last year, but it’s great to see that this delicious frosting recipe is still super popular. Get the recipe.
9. Homemade Vegan Tim Tams
This was the very first post I published in 2020 and I am so happy to see it break the top 10 in its first year! These cookies are so delicious and I’m happy to have seen so many photos of your creations via social media this year! Get the recipe.
8. Turmeric Fried Rice
This simple savoury dish is making its third appearance and year after year I completely understand why as it’s one of my favourite meals to make as well. Get the recipe.
7. Coffee & Walnut Loaf Cake

2. Vegan Sticky Date Pudding with Caramel Sauce
The number 1 recipe for the past two years may have dropped down a place but it’s still a family favourite. Being a post that’s been around for a long time, this year it got a facelift with brand new photos. Get the recipe.
1. Vegetable Curry Pies
Thank you everyone for making these pies! I posted this recipe in February this year and didn’t think that it would do as well as it has but I’m so glad to see you love these as much as I do! It’s also interesting to see a savoury recipe top the list, but really you can’t go wrong with creamy curried veggies wrapped in flakey pastry. Get the recipe.
Thank you to everyone who has visited the site this year. I truly love sharing my recipes with you so thank you for making them and sharing them with your friends and family. Let me know in the comments below what kind of recipes would you like to see featured on the blog in 2021!
