That’s right, it’s time again to say goodbye to another year and take a look back over what you’ve been loving the most on Eight Forest Lane this year.
I always get excited when it’s time to do this round up. My favourite thing is seeing what you’ve been loving and there are always a few surprises which is nice! It also helps me when planning content for the new year as well as I know the types of recipes you’re loving.
This year we have a few old favourites returning which is always fun to see. So whether you’re looking for an easy lunch or dinner, or something deliciously sweet, this list has you covered.
Let’s get into the countdown!
10. 5 Minute Sweet and Spicy Noodles
These noodles have to be one of the simplest recipes on my site but they pack some serious flavour. This is one of the recipes I think I make most often so it’s great to see you are also loving this quick and easy meal. Get the recipe for these 5 minute sweet and spicy noodles.
9. Cookies and Cream Cupcakes (Vegan)
A regular entrant into the top 10 over the years, this is the recipe I see features the most in your social media posts. If you do give them a try, definitely tag me as I love seeing your bakes! Get the recipe for these cookies and cream cupcakes.
8. Vegan Sticky Date Pudding with Caramel Sauce
An all time blog favourite, this recipe is a little lower down on the list than in other years but it’s still going strong. A classic loved by all, I am happy to see it’s still a favourite. Get the recipe for this vegan sticky date pudding.
7. Classic Sausage Rolls
A party or gathering is never really complete without a plate of sausage rolls. This version I love because its super easy and full of flavour – much better than your local bakery (it seems you agree!). Get the recipe for these sausage rolls.
6. 15 Minute Garlic Prawn Noodles
Easy dinners definitely seemed to hit the spot in 2023 and this one should be on your usual rotation if it’s not already. Saucy and delicious but very quick to make. Get the recipe for these garlic prawn noodles.
5. Easy Rice Cooker Turmeric Rice
I love seeing this side dish make the top 5 because it was a recipe that I had been making for years and reluctantly added to the blog more as a supplement to my butter chicken recipe as it’s a meal I love to eat. I am so happy that you enjoy this easy rice dish as much as I do. Get the recipe for this rice cooker turmeric rice.
4. Rum Balls (Dairy Free)
While I really think we should start eating rum balls year round, these guys stay pretty dormant on my site until November-December when you all start getting in the festive spirit! They are a must make for me every Christmas as well so I am excited to see them sitting so high on the list! Get the recipe for dairy free rum balls.
3. One Pot Spicy Sausage Pasta
You want an easy dinner but you want it to be full of flavour – I hear you! That’s exactly what this recipe is. It’s a go to for me and love to see how many of you have made this recipe this year! Get the recipe for spicy sausage pasta.
2. Vegetable Curry Pies
Always a favourite no matter what time of the year, these pies are simple, reheat well and taste amazing. Maintaining their number 2 spot on this list from last year! Get the recipe for vegetable curry pies.
1. Slow Cooker Curried Sausages
Coming in at number one for the second year in a row is our nostalgic classic recipe for curried sausages made in the slow cooker. This year I gave this post some brand new photographs but the recipe has remained the same, still being a favourite in your kitchens! It humbles me a little that such a classic recipe remains so popular. Get the recipe for slow cooked curried sausages.
And that’s it for 2023! Big thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support for Eight Forest Lane this year and allowing me to be able to start 2024 saying that this is now my full-time job.
I love hearing from you so please reach out if you have any questions, have a recipe you’d like to see or just want to say hello.
Cheers to a delicious 2024, I can’t wait to see what it brings, but something tells me it’s going to be a big one.
