These air fryer pork chops are so tender and juicy – you’ll never want to cook pork any other way! Simply seasoned with garlic powder, salt and black pepper, you’ll be able to have perfectly cooked pork with minimal effort. Serve with a rustic mashed potato and greens for an easy weeknight meal in under 20 minutes!
Ok I am still in shock at how good pork chops are when cooked in the air fryer. I have always been a fan of pork but I don’t cook it that often as I tend to dislike pan-frying things as it can get messy and it’s so easy for pork chops to become dry and tough.
These pork chops on the other hand are so incredibly tender and juicy. Just like when I learnt how to cook salmon in the air fryer, the game has completely been changed and I don’t think I’ll cook pork chops any other way.
Pork is a delicious and versatile meat that is also quite lean, making it a perfect addition to the weeknight dinner rotation. Plus the bone-in pork chops which I recommend for the most tender and juicy result, are often quite affordable when compared to other meats.
Oh and did I mention that these pork chops cook in the air fryer in just 10 minutes? Yes you need to turn them half way through but that’s still a lot more hands off than when pan-frying. And with a quick rustic mashed potato and green beans, this whole meal came together in around 20 minutes.

Key Ingredients
This is a staple recipe that you need in your repertoire so we’re keeping it super simple. From here, you can get creative with different flavourings and seasonings for the pork.
Note all ingredients and their quantities are laid out in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Pork chops – as mentioned, I recommend using bone in pork chops as the bone not only adds extra flavour to the meat, it actually helps regulate the cooking process so it cooks more evenly as well as retaining the juices preventing the meat from drying out.
- Olive oil – just a little is used to coat the meat. You can also use canola or vegetable oil.
- Seasoning – all this pork chop really needs is the simple combination of garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

Air fryer – It’s no surprise you’ll need an air fryer to make this recipe. This is the one I have which I love and use a lot! It is perfect for 2 people, but if you’re feeding a family look for an XL or XXL size.
Step-By-Step Instructions
It really couldn’t be simpler to make these bone in pork chops in the air fryer.
Start by preparing your pork. Pat the chops dry using a paper towel and then drizzle with olive oil. Season both sides with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Place the pork chops in the air fryer basket in a single layer ensuring there is some space between them for the air to circulate.
Cook the pork chops for approximately 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through at the 5-minute mark. Depending on the size and thickness of your chops, you may need to adjust the exact cooking time.
The pork chops are ready when they reach an internal temperature of 63°C (145°F). Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.
👉Tip! A meat thermometer is the best way to ensure your pork chops (or any meat) are cooked to perfection. This is one kitchen tool that has completely changed the way I cook meat. Instead of guessing, a quick temperature check guarantees the meat is safe to eat while staying juicy and tender. This is the meat thermometer I use – it’s inexpensive and is super easy to use.
